Barel, Rettangolo bed

| Designbest editorial staff

R

ettangolo by Barel has a stylised headboard, almost as if it were drawn with a light pencil stroke. We like Rettangolo because of its dreamy aesthetics, not losing sight of total comfort. And it also doubles up as a functional bookcase; this keeps everything in place and within reach.

  • What is it? Rettangolo by Barel is a bed with headboard in wrought-iron; this piece also doubles up as a functional bookcase.
  • What is special about it? Headboard constructed in wrought-iron 3D netting; this can be mounted in a variety of different ways. And this is how, the wall behind your bed becomes a functional bookcase.
  • How is it made? Headboard with tubular frame in wrought-iron and interchangeable shelves. The bed frame is in beech plywood. Rettangolo is part of the Filodiferro collection.
  • Who is it by? Simone Micheli is a Tuscan architect, who pays great attention to sustainability and safeguarding nature. Simone Micheli is renowned from branching out into different fields, from interior design, to visual merchandising and even to architecture.
  • We have chosen it because… Finally, we can keep our books within reach next to our bed, without endlessly piling them up on the nightstand. We can even have close to hand all those little nighttime necessities, like a glass of water or tissues. What’s more, interchangeable shelves become functional trays for impromptu breakfasts in bed.
