his open-plan home office takes up a corner of the living room. Work with bold pieces: a minimalist desk with a checked pattern, a retro desk lamp and simple chairs in black. And what can you do, to break up these severe lines? We have just the answer for you. The wall blossoms with a cascade of flowers, a sky-blue carpet with an almost tie-dyed effect and a retro coffee table with top in contrasting colours. This space is right for working from home; let your creativity flow.

Our must-haves

A minimalist desk. This desk appears to have been drawn with a pencil and ruler, inspired by the squared pages of an exercise book. This is an extremely functional piece however, its refined aesthetic makes it also suitable for any living room.

Wood chairs. Timber-framed chairs. In this open-plan home office, part of the living room, conventional task chairs are strictly forbidden. In fact, we have chosen timber-framed chairs in two different styles, which can also serve as dining chairs.
Iconic desk lamp. This retro piece is inspired by 60s design, with striking references to iconic floor lamps. However, this piece has softer silhouette, ideal to balance out the starkness of the desk.

Our style-notes

Floral wallpaper. This wallpaper complements the colours of the furniture. However, the whimsical pattern changes completely the mood of this room; it gives an unexpected allure to this space.
White, black and sky-blue. Sharp colour-blocking. Optical illusions are a must-have: this is how you can add definition. Sky blue for the walls, floors, and accents brings the whole scheme together and creates continuity with the adjacent room.
