ounded at the end of the 19th century by Policarpo Lago as a woodworking workshop, LAGO has been around for a century, going from a small furniture producer for rooms and entrances to then, on the wish of the founder’s children and grandchildren, producing pieces for the living and bedrooms since the 1980s. However, in 2006 with the arrival of the family’s fourth generation, the company became a joint-stock company and faced the reality of the global marketplace. Daniele Lago, the young designer and entrepreneur, alongside his siblings Franco and Rosanna, leads a team of dynamic collaborators. The company produces furniture for all areas of the home and investigates the world of design in a systematic way, considering space as a system where pieces of décor communicate with one another. LAGO is located all over the world with 400 selected shops and single-brand stores in Italian and European cities.
Lago's vision for 2021
"Many years ago, we looked to identify an innovative trajectory which aimed to unite business with the creation of values by setting out on a path in harmony with the planet and capable of putting the focus back onto people. We want to spread a message and, by speaking to 25 million people, always look to improve the planet. This year we have experienced significant growth, even in economic terms. That’s why we want to continue accelerating internationalization and pursue a broader vision of design which blends the physical with the digital to create interesting solutions.
