n occasion of the 2016 Salone del Mobile, Milan, Italian brand Magis, key player on the interior design scene, celebrates its fortieth birthday. Young at heart, Magis was set up by enlightened designer Eugenio Perazza, also known as the Peter Pan of the design world. Throughout the years, Eugenio Perazza has made waves by designing everyday pieces with a magical aura and with his unique talent in forecasting future trends. Creativity, irony, technological research; this is key at Magis. What’s more, Magis is known around the world for its funny symbol: “the mule”. In fact, this animal has always been a part of the brand’s communication strategy. The Magis back catalogue includes a number of groundbreaking pieces, which are now icons in their own right. We cannot fail to mention: the Bombo stool by Giovannoni, one of the most copied pieces of furniture around the world; the Air-chair by Jasper Morrison, namely the first chair manufactured using air-moulding technology; the Spun armchair by Thomas Heatherwick, which received the Compasso d’Oro award; the Mee Too furniture series, designed for the younger customers and where the brand’s fun and playful side really comes out. Happy birthday Magis!
