Patrick Norguet’s latest design adventure for Ethimo couldn’t help but be called Ace.
Unique to say the least (a 2022 release), the new outdoor collection makes a bold entrance for the brand into the world of sport. The name was inspired by the successful tennis serve, as this collection is already shaping up to be successful. “With this ambitious project we wanted to newly interpret the comfort of sports seating, which often gets undervalued” the designer explained of his idea.
In fact, it fits perfectly with our well-being because it comes from a precise idea: supporting athletes during competitions and training and making sporting environments more comfortable. Plus, it all is made in a completely eco-friendly way. Practical, comfortable and elegant, the Ace collection especially focuses on natural, recyclable and resistant materials. With the capacity for contemporary outdoor design and business know-how, passion for sport gets translated into a mixture of materials, forms and techniques with a single common thread: tailormade elegance providing personalized wellness.
Ace was designed to furnish tennis courts, swimming pools, club houses, sporting clubs and wellness areas at the most exclusive resorts in a totally new way. It offers many different customizable configurations because this system aims for the most in flexibility and versatility. The project’s heart is the “classic” wooden bench (the one often found courtside and poolside), revisited with a special curvature of the teak to make it more comfortable. It can be completed with ad hoc accessories, like the Black Cork surfaces—a 100% natural and ecological material—a shoe rack, a bag holder or an aluminum bottle holder, while not forgetting the iconic tennis official’s chair.
The natural and FSC certified teak benches are available in four lengths (150, 210, 240 and 300 cm) and are all modular to create “islands” of custom comfort, while the aluminum accessories come in four colors: Black Red, Moss Green, Coffee Brown and Warm white.
Design, comfort and personality are the new ways to experience outdoor sports according to Ethimo. It is a philosophy dedicated to wellness, which begins from the individual person and moves onto the environment with the same refined comfort that defines the brand’s dining and lounge collections.
