re you looking for a modern alternative to a traditional sideboard? If so, go for Cartalegno by Alf da Frè. Cartalegno by Alf da Frè is a new storage series, which includes: a slimline cupboard, a cube-shaped unit and a low-level sideboard. Units from the Cartalegno series have streamlined aesthetics, are hardwearing and are colourful without being too flashy. This series is by Italian designer Giulio Iacchetti: modern kitchen dressers inspired by the fifties.

What is it? Cartalegno by Alf da Frè is a range of three different kitchen dressers.

What is special about it? Cartalegno draws on fifties design, pieces with a fresh young vibe, suited to a variety of different decors.

How is it made? Solid timber frame and legs, and colourful metallic-finished colourful fronts, available in a choice of white, yellow and grey. You can swap one colour for another, units available in three different sizes: small, medium and tall.

Who is it by? Industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti has been in the business since 1992, and he has just set up his own brand Internoitaliano. Giulio works in partnership with some of the best brands around, also recipient of two Compasso d’Oro Awards (2001, 2014). And what’s his aim? To design everyday pieces with ironic aesthetics and extraordinary functionality.

We have chosen it because… The Cartalegno series by Alf da Frè has a nostalgic feel; this brings back fond memories of simpler times. However, all pieces are still deliciously modern. We have fallen in love with Cartalegno for two main reasons: the first one is that fifties style has made a comeback, and secondly because its fun aesthetics will suit a variety of different needs and endless decor schemes.
