hairs, armchairs and garden tables designed by the great masters of design from Le Corbusier to Charlotte Perriand together with new projects by Rodolfo Dordoni, Philippe Starck and Patricia Urquiola: Cassina presented at Imm Cologne 2020 The Cassina Perspective Goes Outdoor, its first complete collection dedicated to the outdoors.

In an evocative garden-stand created for the occasion, the pieces of the Collection LC, together with some icons by Charlotte Perriand, all reissued in an outdoor version, acted as a backdrop for the brand’s new proposals in a fifties atmosphere with organic forms and playful décor.

The first of three contemporary designers on show, Rodolfo Dordoni has redesigned the resorts of long-ago. The low tables in terrazzo or cement stand out next to the armchairs and Dine Out stackable chairs in solid teak and polypropylene rope; while in the relaxation area there are round poufs in segments with a hole in the center to allow water to drain, and the modular sofa Sail Out, which recalls the shape of inflatable mattresses.

Organic, almost primitive shapes for the open-air space are created by Philippe Stark, who pays homage to wood and nature with the collection Fenc-e Nature. Sofas and armchairs, along with tables in two different heights, look to maximize comfort thanks to the innovative material SoloSoff® (in blown polyester fiber and memory foam) and handwoven backrests designed ad hoc in rope or willow.

One can sense relaxation and wellness in every corner. Patricia Urquiola takes on the same theme with Trampoline, a celebration of the happiness of outdoor life, an island of relaxation with soft and playful forms where handwoven polyproline rope becomes a powerful decoration. In support of the new line there is also the Bowy low table, which moves from an indoor to an outdoor version.

The new outdoor pieces also include design icons like the Doron Hotel armchair designed in 1947 by Charlotte Perriand, which comes in an outdoor teak version, together with her 1937 Table à Plateu Interchangeable, present in the Cassina Collection I Maestri. And yet again the LC Collection with the reissues of Le Corbusier, Jeanneret and Perrian, which changes outfits and with new fabrics and upholstery furnishes the outdoor living and dining rooms: from the armchair to the LC1 sling-back to the LC3 armchair and sofa, the LC6 dining room table, the LC7 small swivel armchair, LC8 swivel stool to LC10-P low tables.

Tradition and modernity meet in the open-air with Cassina, who designs comfortable, fresh, informal and refined spaces for living the most beautiful of seasons in style.
