irotondo by Alessi is a practical idea for the little ones that personifies the more playful aspect of contemporary design. This is the perfect Christmas gift: the iconic stickman by Alessi has been turned into a night light for kids.

  • What is it? Girotondo by Alessi is the brand’s latest table lamp.
  • What is special about it? We’re all aware of the Girotondo stickman designed by Stefano Giovannoni and Guido Venturini in the late eighties. Girotondo was used as a pattern for kitchen, table and office accessories...All that was missing was this version: for kids.
  • How is it made? It’s in thermoplastic resin with adjustable Leds and rechargeable battery. Girotondo can be plugged in to an ordinary socket or used as a portable wireless lamp.
  • Who is it by? King-Kong, namely how the architects Stefano Giovannoni and Guido Venturini styled themselves between 1985 and 1989. During the nineties they pushed the boundaries of conventional design with their fun and playful cartoon-inspired aesthetics. And to this day, their designs are still real crowd pleasers.
  • We have chosen it because… The Girotondo stickman by Alessi has been around for quite some time now, and has always managed to make us smile. On the table, desk or in the kitchen...And now, we think it would be perfect for a child’s bedroom.
