Lago Homes, the contemporary aesthetic of a villa in Lugano

On the one hand, there is Mediterranean style; on the other, contemporary Switzerland with its affluent atmospheres and natural landscapes. Lugano, the prestigious and vibrant city on the banks of the Swiss lake, could not help but be the location chosen by Lago to set up its home.

This contemporary villa furnished by Lago design is surrounded by a 500sqm garden in the heart of the city. The unfinished roof and walls are alternated with architectural elements which recall earth and stone tones for a warm and relaxing atmosphere; meanwhile, the large living room goes for the soft and sinuous forms of a corner sofa and fills up with natural light in order to provide an informal and enveloping convivial atmosphere.

Suspended bookcases and low tables with organic forms play off of one another in the space together with the wall’s century-old Wildwood TV stand and glass shelf in that flawless combination of tradition and contemporaneity.

Instead, in the dining room it is the table with its sculptural base which stands outs and captures the attention of guests with its elegant metal-effect top; while, the glass sideboard shows off the latest in the language of design with its aesthetic lightness and dynamism.

The same common thread runs through the bedroom and home office. They put “suspended” furniture on display on tempered-glass pedestals in order to provide bold yet light style which emphasizes moments dedicated to rest and work with a dreamy and creative allure. The energy of Lago design changes the perception of the space and provides a concept that puts people in touch with nature, in a continuum of spaces which bring out emotions and connect one with the surrounding landscape in an empathetic vision of contemporary home design.
