.N.E. by Douwantone is a new line of napkins, made using fine silks. Designer duo Douwantone has decided to turn conventional table setting into an extraordinarily elegant affair. O.N.E. by Douwantone adds a distinct retro vibe to your table: unique pieces which can be set in a variety of different ways.
What is it? O.N.E. by Douwantone is a line of napkins in silk tie fabric.
What is special about it? This napkin series includes one-off pieces only (precisely why it’s called O.N.E): each napkin is unique and is made using silk tie fabric, bringing to mind vintage pocket squares. Each napkin is a handmade piece and is available in limited edition. One is only you need to add some sass to your table, however mix and match them for dramatic tablescapes, vaguely retro in taste.
How is it made? Handmade napkins in silk tie fabric (100% Made in Italy) in different patterns and prints, inspired by vintage pocket squares. This series is pretty sustainable: each napkin is made using either offcuts or surplus stock, available as sets of 2, 4, 6 or 12. Sets include different patterns in complementary colours or the same pattern in different colours.
Who is it by? Antonio Barletta and Valentina Brenna are two artists based in Milan, their wide ranging production goes from graphics to publishing and video making.
We have chosen it because… We like the thought of being able to change our table just by adding a special little detail. O.N.E. by Douwantone has a vintage feel, a fresh new take on retro aesthetics; this series is perfect for that mismatched look, sophisticated and also sustainable.
