ADI Design Index 2019

| Designbest editorial staff

products and projects that best represent all the latest design trends: The ADI – Association for Industrial Design – Permanent Design Observatory presents the annual selection of excellence in Italian design at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. It is a competition for the ADI Compasso d'Oro, the oldest and, more importantly, most respected global design prize.

Once again the publication of the 2019 ADI Design Index includes products, systems, research, services and social initiatives realized in the last year that set themselves apart for creativity, quality and innovation. Out of the 970 candidates only 378 products (divided in 13 categories) passed the selection process to go on to compete for the 26th edition of the ADI Compasso d’Oro. A rigorous selection process that, among other things, put an emphasis on sustainability. Diversity in the culture of ‘Made In Italy’ was also highlighted with 1,300 kilometers of Made in Italy design, an analysis created ad hoc to reflect the cultural variations in Italian design culture.

The exhibition, designed by Cortesi Design with Francesco Schianchi, will be in Milan until October 20th and then move to Rome from October 23rd to November 26th 2019. We wanted to dedicate our focus to the Home Design category: if you missed the chance to visit the exhibition, here is a preview of the 51 best products dedicated to the home.
