  3. A dream villa in Berlin, modern interior design and a touch of luxury
| Designbest editorial staff

he renovation of this period villa is a clear example of how you can gracefully mix together luxury furniture and contemporary design. We are in Berlin, in Charlottenburg to be more precise. This neighbourhood was developed during the nineteenth century by wealthy entrepreneurs, who saw it as the ideal location for building their private homes.

dining room and living room in the villa in Berlin

In the dining room, an antique dresser (left-hand side) and in the living room, a four seater sofa (right-hand side). In this elegant and welcoming space, key players are the colour white and the warm shades of timber.

The villa has a grand interior with a warm and welcoming feel. This is a clutter-free space with only a few pieces of furniture, carefully chosen by the in-house team at Dopo_domani, who has overseen the interior décor. The designers at Dopo_domani, closely working with the owners, have also chosen several important family antiques to act as focal points. Elegant pieces with simple and clean silhouettes have been arranged with a light touch. What’s more, there’s a harmonious mix of pale hues and natural materials; they echo both the white walls and the beautiful oak period herringbone parquet flooring.

This ambitious refurbishment crowned the new owners’ dream of a lifetime. Here, a stone’s throw away from the famous Charlottenburg castle and its impressive baroque features, our couple can enjoy an endless collection of books, playing the piano and looking over old-growth trees in a large garden. If this is not a dream…
