rom the 12th to the 16th February, the city of Frankfurt am Main, Germany will be hosting the 2016 edition of Ambiente, the leading international fair for consumer goods. Ambiente has anything from latest trends in interior decor, kitchens and table setting.
And this year, there’s something new: Italy will be the focus of this event, playing a prominent role within the entire fair. Ambiente is split into different themes, which include Dining, Living and Giving and what’s more, there’s a special area set aside for Italy. Savoir Faire Italiano (this is the name of the section) is a showcase of the best Italy has to offer in terms of art and design, with over 400 different brands the calibre of Bialetti, Alessi, Tescoma, Guzzini, Riedel…
And the backdrop, which has especially been designed for this fair, contributes in setting the right scene: a selection of traditional pots and pans, cutlery and kitchen utensils in the colours of the Italian flag; the Café Rimini Rimini designed by Giulio Iacchetti, which resembles a beach concession on the Adriatic coast in the twenties. And to top this, the exhibition La Dolce Vita, overseen by Paola Navone, relies on a display of the best of Made in Italy to illustrate typical Italian social rituals.
And everywhere else in Ambiente: lights, textiles, furniture for both indoors and out and home accessories, namely all the trends for 2016. This year, Ambiente has over 1100 exhibitors from variety of different fields: interior design, gift ideas, jewellery, stationery, fashion and beauty products, something for little ones and even wellness gadgets.
So, why don’t you take advantage of this and spend a weekend in Germany? You can do some sightseeing, visit the Museumsufer district, chill in local pubs and most importantly, go to Ambiente. And then, return home full of fresh new ideas for 2016.
