ntil the 31st July 2017, designers Roberto Palomba and Ludovica Serafini have turned the Foscarini Spazio Brera into an extraordinary Italian garden. Foscarini Spazio Brera is brand Foscarini’s showroom in the city of Milan.
The Birdie Garden revolves around Birdie, the popular lamp inspired by a bird’s perch. By casting a tall shadow, Birdie floor lamps welcome visitors in and show them to the entrance of this enchanted garden. Step inside the adjoining room and you’ll find yourself in a hall of mirrors, which loosely recalls an eighteenth-century tearoom. Here, you can catch your breath before resuming the itinerary, which leads to the third and last room: a cluster of Birdie lamps in different sizes which trickle down from the ceiling.
A dreamy installation which brings together poetry, illusion and fantasy, and this incredible game of reflections enhances the overall effect. The tone is romantic and carefree, and as if by magic, it makes us forget our daily stress and the hustle and bustle of the city. Definitely, an event not to be missed: we’ve just been and we’ve had a blast wondering around this exciting space-time dimension.
