ow at the Brazilian Embassy in Rome, Projeto Raiz is an itinerant exhibition set up by Sindmóveis (the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves) and Apex-Brasil (a Brazilian agency that supports trade and foreign investors).
From the 8th to the 30th June 2017, Rome will be the first European leg of this itinerant exhibition, which will soon touch other capital cities. In fact, the main intent of Projeto Raiz is to promote Brazilian design all around Europe.
Set up in 2012, Projeto Raiz brings together artists and designers from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. In fact, the 17 studios taking part couldn't be more different from one other: Noemi Saga Atelier, Fahrer Design, NDT Design, Aristeu Pires, Paulo Alves, estudiobola, Estúdio Ronald Sasson, ITENS by Ana Neute, Jader Almeida, Leo Romano, Guto Indio da Costa, Marta Manente, Alessandra Delgado, Plataforma 4, Carol Gay, Tora Brasil and Gustavo Martini.
The exhibits include wooden furniture that could have been directly carved from a tree trunk, upcycled objects and unconventional pieces with dreamy aesthetics. Here, Brazilian art and culture come together in an extremely evocative setting, which makes us dream and reflect.
