n Brussels from the 14th to the 17th March 2019, Collectible is an international fair that focuses on collectible contemporary design.
In its second edition, the event started by Clélie Debehault and Liv Vaisberg is the sole fair in Europe to focus entirely on top quality contemporary design. In addition, it brings together established as well as emerging galleries and designers, attracting collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.
This year, Collectible brings the Vanderborght building to life with a display overseen by studio Verter from Rotterdam and with over one hundred international expositors. The top art galleries and design studios in the field complete for the visitors’ attention, putting on display a representative selection that includes one-of-a-kind as well as limited-edition pieces. The many exhibits include: pieces by DIM Altelier, home textiles by Nathalie Van der Massen, bronze and wooden furniture by Kostia and drawings by Carla Baz inspired by Lebanon and France. Besides, the visitors are able to experiment with ideas in special spaces. Two new features are planned for 2019. There’s a section for art galleries that explores the intersection of art and design, as well as showcasing the work of selected artists. In addition, there’s a section for schools such as the Design Academy from Eindhoven and the Royal College of Art from London and here, graduates present their pioneering work.
Collectible couldn’t be complete without projects commissioned by renowned institutions such as the Design Museum in Gent, the ADAM (Design Museum Brussels) and the CID du Grand-Hornu, a perfect balance between art, architecture and design. Collectible is an international platform (not to be missed) equally for the people who want to showcase and the best on the collectible contemporary design scene. Besides, it’s an opportunity not to be missed to take a look at the best of contemporary design.
