ith over 80 international exhibitors made up of independent designers, brands and manufacturers, the design fair EDIT Napoli is back in Naples for its third edition from October 29-31, 2021.
Conceived of by Domitilla Dardi and Emilia Petruccelli, this year’s fair will include a rich program of events, exhibitions and installations in historical and spectacular locations. The heart of the fair will be in the monumental complex of San Domenico Maggiore, but there are various sites which will open their doors for the occasion with projects dedicated to quality, territoriality and a transparent supply chain.
"The 2021 edition goes beyond borders, with particular attention being given to the Mediterranean” explained Domitilla Dardi, the fair’s curator. “There are many collaborations with international brands and designers, like those from France, Lebanon and The Netherlands, plus many young designers who will enliven the Seminario section”. There are 30 under-30, up-and-coming names and brands with less than three years of business included in this year’s Seminario.
The brands which will be there include Atelier Macramè, Orografie, Atelier Malak, Forma&Cemento, Golden Editions, Lithea, Milla Novo, Stamuli, The Art and Design Group, Zieta Studio Very Simple Kitchen, Finemateria, La Maufacture and many others putting a wide spectrum of unreleased pieces and projects on display.
There are many special projects like the spectacular installation in the name of manual movement by the French duo Canel Averna (recent winners of the Design Parade in Villa Noailles, Hyéres) or the space designed by the Dutch Kiki&Joost - Kiki van Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk in the cloister of San Domenico Maggiore.
There will also be a charity auction organized in collaboration with Christie’s which will auction the prototypes of the Hybrida collection by MADE IN EDIT from Patricia Urquiola together with the Istituto ad indirizzo raro Caselli – Royal Factory of Capodimonte.
Adding even more of an impetus to the fair, this year there is also EDIT CULT, which will encourage cultural synergy with its program dedicated to creativity. From the exhibit dedicated to graphic design by Lidewij Edelkoort to the personal exhibit which will put high-end jewelry on display (designed by the South African artist Daniel Kruger), the Italo-Lebanese collaboration between the interior designer Stephanie Moussallem and Neapolitan artisans, and the collective installation designed by Luca Nichetto, Nendo, Neri&Hu, Patrick Norguet, Marc Thorpe and many others, EDIT CULT will immerse us in the iconic and vibrant universe of art and design with fluid artistic influences and collaborations.
This edition is once again centered on dialogue, unexpected creative visions and high-quality culture.
