ufram will be at EMMA, Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Finland, from the 18th February until the 10th May 2015, with a unique and bold exhibition: Pop Art Design. Here, Gufram's iconic pieces take centre stage with some of the most representative and irreverent artists of the Pop-Art movement. You will be able to see more than 200 items between products and works of art: home accessories, furniture and photographs. And this helps to paint a clear picture of day to day life in the twentieth century.
You will also be able to understand the kind of intimate and dynamic partnership, which has existed, since the nineteen sixties, between art and design. Andy Wharol, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg and Rober Rauschenberg; these are the artists who largely contributed to this cultural revolution. Through a bold and unconventional display, you will immediately relive the heady atmosphere of this period.
Displayed, right in the centre, are the works of those artists which go hand-in-hand with the radical designs produced by Gufram since the seventies. Unmissable are: Bocca sofa and who wouldn't remember this piece inspired by Marylin Monroe's lips; the touch of genius which is Pratone, a friendly nudge to hippy lifestyle and Capitello chaise longue, a fun take on Grecian architecture.
Gufram's pieces are all unique in their own way; well-known and well-loved, having made of wit and irony a symbol of design innovation. And in this exhibition, these objects are elevated to the status of artistic masterpieces, shining once again under the spotlight of international design.
