eimtextil, the international trade fair for textiles, celebrates its 50th anniversary and, as always, it does so with an eye on future trends. The 2020 edition, taking place from January 7th to 10th 2020 at Messe Frankfurt, could not help but focus on an extremely pertinent theme: sustainability.
Over 3,000 exhibitors will present their furniture textile collections, while a good 250 companies (gathered in the Green Directory) will put the most sustainable options on display. The focus on the marriage between design and sustainability will enliven the Trend Space in pavilion 3, where the designers will present all the future trends with particular attention on reusable and recyclable textiles and materials—the so-called living textiles. Pavilion 12 will be transformed into a huge Green Village for the occasion, a real and true hub where one can find information on sustainable practices and meet signature suppliers, certifiers and even UN representatives with their sustainable development projects.
There will also be the Future Materials Library where visitors will be able to examine the production methods of innovative materials; while the theme “Where I Belong” is an interactive journey into the world of innovation—among materials, chromatic trends and new designs—with guided tours of the latest themes and projects.
The latest edition of the fair will alternate between interior design and textile technology, touching on various themes. Curtains, decorative furniture textiles, curtain accessories, solar protection systems and carpets will furnish pavilion 8 with all the new releases from the 50 international editors. Pavilion 11 will be dedicated to the world of rest with over 140 companies and some start-ups showing off intelligent beds, mattresses, high-tech sleep systems and bedroom linens that can’t be missed. Pavilion 4 will host a discussion of the latest trends. There also be discussions about lifestyle—with many proposals for the living room—hospitality and practicality (with insulating, fireproof and waterproof materials), new perspectives and original furniture interpretations (with 40 new exhibitors in addition to the 400 already confirmed).
Heimtextil once again proves itself as an important international event that can’t be missed: the destination for those who want to get to know the latest furniture trends and next textile technologies, which from January will bring the future into our daily lives.
