o visto un Re is the latest exhibition set up and promoted by Italian brand Alcantara in partnership with the city of Milan. Ho visto un Re will take over the Appartamento del Principe (lit. the prince’s apartment) at the Palazzo Reale, Milan from the 20th September until the 23rd October 2016.
On this occasion, nine international artists have been invited to redecorate the ten rooms of the Appartamento del Principe. Ho visto un Re is an extremely experimental event that revolves around Alcantara, as well as drawing inspiration from a variety of different artistic fields like art, theatre, music and fashion.
Each artist (Maurizio Anzeri, Arthur Arbesser, Paola Besana, Gentucca Bini, Matthew Herbert, Taisuke Koyama, Francesco Simeti, Adrian Wong & Shane Aspegren) used Alcantara to interpret in their own unique way popular fairytales. In fact, on display we have princes and princesses, spells and labyrinths, frogs and magic wands, as well references to past architectural styles. This turns the Appartamento del Principe in a truly remarkable setting with a rapid succession of sculptures, installations and works of art.
Without a doubt, Ho visto un Re And will be a unique experience, a vibrant, imaginative and slightly irreverent exhibition able to enchant old and young alike. Eclectic like Alcantara itself, possibly the perfect material for this purpose.
