rom the 7th to the 15th October, in occasion of the Milano Fall Design Week, in other words the autumn event series promoted by the Milan city council, HOMI showcases the prototypes of the products of the future.
Design Competition Condivisione is backed by the Regione Lombardia in partnership with Unioncamere Lombardia and ADI (the Italian association for industrial design), and puts on display around forty different projects inspired by communal living (already seen at the September edition of HOMI 2017).
The pieces on display go from a bookcase with storage compartments that you can change around by moving its shelves, to a chair that grows to seat additional guests when need be. On this occasion, the furniture manufacturers from Lombardy have revealed their true talent and creativity, illustrating the new requirements of modern-day living.
To save time, gain more space and reuse materials, rediscover beauty in its purest sense: these are the guiding principles behind the furniture and accessories of the home of tomorrow. Flexible furniture that can adapt to any space (and style), offering sensorial and multifunctional experiences; designs that satisfy the needs of the whole family and, at the same time, preempting the trends of the future.
Design Competition Condivisione will also include the work of four emerging young designers chosen by the Centro per il Design and the central German state of Hesse, according the same principle of communal living.
