he art of table setting, craftsmanship, trends, experimenting with new ideas and much more: HOMI, the interior lifestyle fair, is back from the 15th to the 18th September 2017. Once again, HOMI opens its doors to new trends and ways of living. In its eight edition, HOMI brings us new trends in contemporary living and frontiers in home decor with young creative talents, established brands, emerging new technology and highly creative ideas.
Even this year, HOMI couldn’t be complete without extra special events. HOMI Smart is a must-see if you’re a hi-tech enthusiast, it focuses on web 2.0 and the smart home (the so called Internet of Things). Also HOMI Creazioni and HOMI Sperimenta focus on innovation, experimenting with new concepts and looking to the future. Here, you’ll find the most revolutionary ideas and innovative projects, anything from sustainable design to textile design, and from home decor to accessories.
However, if you want to learn about the new trends for the season don’t miss the exhibition La Magnifica Forma, part of the Living Habits fringe event series, as well as HOMI Trend and HOMI Hybrid Lounge with attention paid to trends, materials and interior finishes.
Without a doubt, stimulating ideas will come from the winners of two competitions aimed at young designers: Design Competition, set up by the Regione Lombardia and the HOMI Maker Design Award, drawn up in partnership with the Centro dell’Artigianato Artistico e Tradizionale della Toscana. And then, HOMI Asia Design, created for people who have a passion for Oriental style; this puts on display traditions from the land of the rising sun bought together with more contemporary pieces.
Just like in past years, there are many notes of style: certainly, irregular organic silhouettes inspired by the natural world and untreated natural materials (especially timber) are the season’s latest trend. And what about the products? The on-trend pieces focus on uniqueness and versatility: like an adjustable bookcase (with cubes which move up and down), the triple chair, made from three chairs in three different materials which overlap to create one single piece or a bottle rack that doubles as a lamp.
Original, versatile and space-saver, the latest furniture has extremely unique aesthetics: for a home halfway between a period residence and a hi-tech enclave, which looks especially made for us.
