a Marie, Louis Ghost, Joe Colombo, Maui: at the D Museum in Seoul, Kartell’s all-time best selling products by top international designers sing an ode to plastic.
Exhibition Plastic Fantastic puts on display pieces by top names in the design industry: a magical journey in the fabulous world of plastics. In the twentieth century, plastic has gone from being a low-quality material to a new and ground breaking material, bursting into our daily lives.
There are over 2700 pieces on display that range from lighting design to furniture, and from graphic design to photography. There is work by Anna Castelli Ferrieri, a true innovator who gave a new sense to mass-produced plastics, objects by stararchitect Philippe Starck, certainly a designer who needs no introduction, designs by Patricia Urquiola, known for her great talent in forecasting new trends and pieces by the internationally acclaimed lighting designer Ferruccio Laviani.
Plastic Fantastic puts on display the work of 40 different designers; this exhibition illustrates how plastic has evolved in time, inviting us to discover its potential and its constant evolution. What’s more, the display is spiced-up by Kartell’s unique flavor: sassy, ironic, slightly disrespectful, able to bring together graphics, colours and pure creativity to create the unique and timeless Italian style.
