he Masters chairs in 30 different styles; this is the first step of the charity auction sponsored by Fonds Guilhem and AMPA to raise funds for research into Alzheimer’s and paediatric treatment.
On the 8th February 2018 at the RBC Design Center in Montepellier, France, Kartell will auction 30 versions of the Masters chairs by just as many artists, designers and architects: there’s one covered in feathers by Jerome Brunet and other covered in moss by Francois Fontès, a chair rolled up in a neon-yellow plastic tube by Adrien Fregosi and a version lit by a string of LEDs by Eugenie Quillet. And there’s Philippe Starck’s version of course, who, drawing from Eero Saarinen’s work, had designed purpose-built floor lamp.
The charity auction, held by HELENIS and RBC – two of the most important brands on the French design scene – in partnership with the international auction house Artcuria, will start from 350 Euros.
We wouldn’t want to miss it for the world: we can go home with an iconic design and do our bit to help to support research into Alzheimer’s research as well as paediatric treatment.
