re you looking for something out of the ordinary for your kids, do you collect the work of famous illustrators or are you an eternal Peter Pan? If so, we strongly recommend you to visit exhibition Le immagini della fantasia (lit. fantastical images). Now in its 34th year, Le immagini della fantasia, part of the Mostra Internazionale d’Illustrazione per l’Infanzia (lit. international exhibition of children’s illustrations), is at the Casa della Fantasia in Sàrmede, Northeast Italy, from the 22nd October 2016 to the 20th January next year. And just like past editions, Le immagini della fantasia will introduce the public to a fantastical world made of pure creativity, aesthetic innovation and colourful narratives. For kids and grownups alike.
And what better brand to lead this event than Magis? In fact, throughout the years, Magis has made a name for itself also by designing for the kids’ market. True to form, this exhibition is a veritable magnet for top international illustrators, editors and authors. This year, there’s work by Guido Scarabattolo (guest of honour), who with a pop-up display, awakes our curiosity and make us want to pick a pencil up and draw. There are also fairytales, games and maps on Chile by Gabriela Mistral and Luis Sepùlveda; this takes us on a magical evocative journey. Plus, there are a variety of different fringe events for young and old, definitely worth a visit.
Le immagini della fantasia has a variety of different events to choose from: talks by different illustrators and authors, live readings and illustration workshops. In fact, every day is a new adventure, a chance to let your imagination run wild and skip from one magical world to the next. What’s more, you’ll be surrounded by fun and fantastical pieces by Magis, which look like they’ve just jumped out of a fairy tale.
