Linee Contemporanee: Design tra passato e futuro: una conversazione con Francesca Molteni e Francesco Meda
inee Contemporanee, the interior design showroom started in 1948, celebrates its seventieth anniversary. The store has celebrated this important milestone with a complete restyling by Molteni&C, under Vincent Van Duysen’s artistic direction.
As a result, thanks to the brand’s characteristic refined taste, this dramatic, suggestive space is now the perfect stage to showcase iconic pieces by celebrated designers such as Gio Ponti as well as the latest designs by Francesco Meda.
This is the perfect location for an evening centred on design. On the 10th October in fact, Linee Contemporanee invites you to the event “Design tra passato e futuro: una conversazione con Francesca Molteni e Francesco Meda (lit. design between past and future: a conversation with Francesca Molteni and Francesco Meda)”. This is an opportunity to learn about Francesco Meda’s latest work (that includes the Woody chairs presented to the public at the Salone del Mobile 2018), illustrated by the architect himself. Besides this is equally a chance to catch the feature-film Amare Gio Ponti, Il Potere dell’Archivio: Renzo Piano Building Workshop e SuperDesign, directed by Francesca Molteni: an account of the Italian radical movement from 1965 to 1975, focusing on its key players from Pietro Gilardi to Ettore Sottsass and from Ugo La Pietra to Superstudio.
So, this evening centred on design culture addresses current architectural projects as well as the radical imaginary, beginning with design history and ending with the non-written history of “anti-design”.
