his year too, the world of design does a good deed. ADI, the Italian association for industrial design, invites you once again to Love Design, a benefit planned by Airc, an Italian foundation that supports the fight against cancer.
From the 11th to the 13th of October 2019 in fact, held as customary in the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, this charitable event, started in 2003 under the name Il design sostiene la ricerca (lit. design supports research) and is now in its ninth edition, includes the top brands in the world of design.
An opportunity not to be missed: the products donated by the brands on the design scene (from jewellery design to winners of the prestigious award Compasso d’Oro ADI, from architectural pieces to decorative chairs, from lighting design to furniture by the top designers) are sold at a special price. The main aim is to create three three-year grants for young researchers with the value of 75 thousand Euros each.
In turn, the three researchers will use the money raised towards their oncological research, mainly connected to the female sphere. It is no coincidence that Love Design takes place in October, a month dedicated to breast cancer prevention and that Airc promotes with the Pink Ribbon campaign. This event is thus an indispensable and winning initiative, as it raises awareness among companies and the public by joining forces in the fight against cancer.
During the previous eight editions, 580 firms have taken part in Love Design, raising 2,271,287.62 Euros with the sale of over 22,000 objects. For the 2019 edition, a vast number of companies have already joined the Promotion Committee and the key players in the field include Alessi, Alias, B&B Italia, Caimi Brevetti, De Padova, Flos, Kartell, Living Divani, Magis, Martinelli Luce, Molteni&C, Pedrali, Poliform, Rimadesio and Fiat.
This is undoubtedly an event not to be missed: Love Design is the perfect opportunity to give or receive a designer piece and contribute to the progress in Italian cancer research.
