AIRC+ADI: Love Design 2019

T

his year too, ADI, the Italian association for industrial design, is hosting Love Design, an event held in partnership with Airc, a foundation for cancer research.

Held at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, from the 11th to the 13th October 2019, this charity event, started in 2003 under the name Il design sostiene la ricerca (lit. design supports research), is now in its ninth edition and as always, it’s supported by the top brands on the design scene.

Similarly to past editions, products donated by top designer brands are sold to raise money for three three-year research grants with the value of 75 thousand Euros each. Besides, the grants are aimed to fund oncological research with a focus on the female universe. It’s not a coincidence in fact that Love Design is held in the month of October, dedicated to breast cancer prevention that Airc supports with the campaign Nastro Rosa. Therefore, this event champions an extremely worthwhile cause by encouraging firms and the general public to join forces in the battle to cancer.

The precedent editions of Love Design have included over 580 firms, raising a jaw-dropping 2.271.287,62 Euros with the sale of over 22 thousand objects. Many firms have already signed up for the 2019 edition and this year’s organising committee includes high-profile companies such as AlessiAliasB&B Italia, Caimi BrevettiDe PadovaFlosKartellLiving DivaniMagis Martinelli LuceMolteni&CPedrali, Poliform, Rimadesio and Fiat.

We’ve already saved the date: with a vast selection of objects on sale (from jewellery to objects that have won the prestigious ADI Compasso d’Oro award, from architectural pieces to decorative chairs, from lighting to pieces by top designers), Love Design is the perfect opportunity to buy a gift and contribute towards Italian cancer research.
