ocated in the Aoyama Building in Tokyo, the Magis showroom reopens following a complete renovation. The new interior design project has expanded the main display area and now, in addition to Magis’ iconic products, there is ample space to put on display the Italian brand’s latest pieces, from the “Brut” collection by Konstantin Grcic to the "Vitrail" mirrors designed by Inga Sempé.
Designed by the Japanese studio Design Fresco that specialises in the design of single-brand stores for international labels and is known for having remodelled the stores of Leica, Mikimoto and Omega, the new concept is simple and sophisticated, Italian as well as Japanese, a blend of two cultures able to produce superior quality products.
The floor is in concrete, the nuanced walls are in different shades of grey, the dark ceiling has an exposed structure, there is a long minimalist desk at the entrance and lightweight display shelves on the walls. This pure, refined backdrop purposely takes a back seat as it serves to enhance the eclectic spirit that defines Magis’ world. With great artistry, this bewitching space represents a dialogue between two different cultures, Italian and Japanese that sill have a lot to say.
