xhibition Normali Meraviglie. La mano is at the Triennale Design Museum from the 4th November to the 4th December 2016. Key player is the iconic Hand by artist Mimmo Paladino, seen through the eyes of 53 international artists and designers: Michele De Lucchi, Alessandro Mendini, Aldo Cibic, Patricia Urquiola, Marco Zanuso Junior and Antonio Marras, just to name a few.
Normali Meraviglie takes visitors on a journey through 54 different 50 cm-high hand sculptures, manufactured by the Fondazione Sacra Famiglia (an Italian charity which takes care of vulnerable individuals) according to Mimmo Paladino’s original design. Then, each artists will decorate a hand with drawings, colours, objects, turning these hands from blank canvases into real works of arts: there’s one in gold, one in Indian-style, one with an optical pattern, one with painted nails, and there are even one scaffolding and another with free-climbers holding onto its fingers…
Each artist was encouraged to let his imagination run wild and the outcome were fun and dramatic one-off pieces; this has made us want to pick one up for our living room or entrance hall. So, if you’d also like to own one (or maybe give one away as a special Christmas present), buy a lottery ticket as they’ll be given away in a raffle with all proceeding going to the Fondazione Sacra Famiglia. Plus, don’t miss the benefit dinner on the closing night Saturday the 3rd December (contact information: email@example.com, tel. +39 02 87286581).
