ix mentors for the same number of young talents, and they’re all from Italy. Presented by Maison & Objet, in January 2018 Rising Talent Awards Italy will shine a light on the Italian design scene.
In fact, Made in Italy design will take centre stage at Maison & Objet from the 19th to the 23rd January 2018. Without a doubt, Rising Talent Awards Italy stands to testify the great influence Italian design, supported by the country’s longstanding craftsmanship tradition, has on the international scene. In this instance, six emerging designers will represent the Italian design scene as a whole.
The judging panel is composed by six established designers: Andrea Branzi, Piero Lissoni, Luca Nichetto, the art director Giulio Cappellini, the gallery owner and famed contemporary designer Rossana Orlandi and the fashion designer Rosita Missoni.
The judges have picked who they reckon to be the new rising stars, chosen from a list of hopefuls that include lesser known designers too. And the award for 2018 has gone to: Federica Biasi, Antonio Facco, Marco Lavit Nicora, Kansaku Oshiro, Federico Peri and Guglielmo Poletti.
Passion, research, poetry, versatility, harmony and instinct; this is what has inspired the different competition winners. Now, it’s time to be officially presented on the international design scene, under the watchful eye of talent scouts and trend analysts from around the world.
We’ve had the chance to take a look, and we have been favourably impressed. Check-out all the entries: you will root for them no doubt.
