ith the solo exhibit Zaha Hadid Design Collection, ME Milan Il Duca, a five-star hotel in the heart of Milan, devotes the month of April to the architect and designer Zaha Hadid.
This exhibition illustrates and explores Zaha Hadid’s formal design language with an overview of products that include several limited-edition pieces: in fact the hotel ground floor is brought to life by the sofa Moon System by B&B Italia, the armchair ZH One by Cassina, the collection Crystal Architecture by Lalique, the products Lapp, Weave and Strip by Rosenthal, the chair Z Chair designed for Sawaya Moroni as well as many other pieces such as a selection of products by ZHD Collection.
Created in collaboration with some of the most famous international brands around, Zaha Hadid’s vast collection illustrates the connection that exists between design and architecture (consistent in the designer’s work) as well as her experimentation in glass, ceramic and marble.
"When designing objects" explained Woody Yao, Director of ZHA, "Zaha was never forced by a given use or spatial context and we continue to follow and draw strength from this approach, so that the collection has room to evolve without compromising the integrity of the design”.
Zaha’s strength in fact lies in the ability to transform ordinary life into something unexpected, which is why ME Milan Il Duca chose this designer to contribute to The Culture Collective, the cultural programme that every month offers an in-depth analysis in the world of design, art and contemporary culture.
For a unique and educated vision of everyday life.
