allpaper in silk and vinyl, quaint armchairs in velvet, antiques and a retro feel. In the temporary store in via Santo Spirito in Milan, the high-fashion house from Florence showcases its new home décor style with Gucci Décor, a bewitching collection that includes furniture and decorative objects, designed by the brand’s creative director Alessandro Michele.
As soon as you set foot inside, you find yourself in an eccentric bourgeois living room in which all the colours, patterns and materials are inspired by a sumptuous aesthetic, a sort of “Wunderkammer” that combines inquisitiveness, splendour and style. Two shell-shaped armchairs, surrounded by antique books, screens and hand-painted pottery, welcome you to this extravagant and refined home, in which the walls and the furniture are decorated with floral patterns, bucolic prints, tigers and snakes in bold colours.
Colourful chairs, embroidered cushions and contemporary tapestries blend with padded screens, antique plates, Art Deco lamps and oversized carpets; they decorate the period architecture of this apartment with its ornate coffered ceilings, painted panel doors and a large marble fireplace.
You are able to shop in this spectacular boutique/home (open until June) that’s perfectly in line with the brand’s distinctive aesthetic, taking home with you several pieces from this exclusive, eclectic collection.
