I
nterni Bonetti is an independent interior design store in the centre of Turin, north west Italy. Interni Bonetti simply describes itself as “a contemporary showroom”, playing down its real scale in a most typical Turinese fashion. This veritable gem is hidden at the end of a quaint little road, which joins Porta Nuova, the main train station in Turin, to one of the city's largest squares, Piazza Castello. Interni Bonetti is not just your ordinary store. In fact, it's a real design hub, where clients are invited to take an active part in all the stages of the design process, working alongside incredibly talented artists and craftspeople.
“There is a beautiful isolated land, caught somewhere in between the world of contemporary design and the skilled craftsmanship of bygone eras. A calming environment where you can unwind, surrounded by things made with love and passion”. This short extract by Renata Bonetti, sums up perfectly her own philosophy.
In origin, Interni Bonetti only dealt with interior design and project management. Throughout the years, this store has managed to build a reputation capitalising on a strong design service: a striking passion for design, a desire to experiment with fresh ideas and a constant search for new materials, shapes and colours. In fact, these qualities have been key in turning a simple store into a truly magical place.
Interni Bonetti is full of Renata's suggestions; different ways of creating harmonious interiors with flair. You just need to step inside this store and the job is almost done. There's an immediate sense of harmony about the place. What's more, all designs are tailor made to suit clients' tastes and needs. In fact, Renata won't sell you anything if she first hasn't seen your home. She also has a special eye in deciding who to involve in each new project. Above all, everything she does has to be functional, unique and in top notch quality.
This showroom has a distinctly modern feel; bespoke pieces are made from recycling materials and old furniture parts. A need to step aside from the dull mass produced furniture around us, has inspired a line of storage pieces with fronts made using old shutters. These unique items can mixed with modular furniture, in a free-flowing scheme full of surprises.
During the last thirty years, this Turinese store has followed many interior design projects. In general, a love for handmade furniture goes hand-in-hand with an unconventional aesthetic, consequently shaping the future of modern design. And this challenge will always be exiting to us.
