OKDirect light – rechargeable battery
The light beam is projected directly onto the table, casting a shadow on the rest of the room. The QuiQuoQua lamp by Davide Groppi carries the light to where it’s needed without the constraints of an electric cable: suspended from the ceiling with a thin steel cable, it has a rechargeable battery.
Adjustable direct light
If you’re looking to light the table, but you’d also like to adjust its direction when need be, Cappuccina by Luceplan is what you’re looking for. The fabric lampshade gently rests in place without requiring hooks; this ensures freedom of movement and that the light can be oriented.
Diffused light
Ideal if you’d like a well-lit table, but also if you’d like to gently spread the light to the rest of the room. The Heracleum II lamp by Moooi is not merely functional, in fact its floral crown made from a multitude of thin polycarbonate lenses is a real eye-catching piece, the true star of the room.
Light in clusters
Go for a family of lamps in different shapes, colours and transparencies, if you want to create a decorative cluster using lamps in different styles, with direct or diffused lighting, closer or further away from the table, which can also be switched on individually. Inspired by old-time French ateliers, the lampshades of the Shadow by Brokis kit are in blown glass.
Customized lampshade
Often, pendant lamps can be assembled with a choice of different lamp shades, so you'll find the one that's best. The traditional blown-glass bell, completed with a ceramic bow, re-invented by iconic modern designer Marcel Wanders, can be see-through, colourful or in white-paste.
For an intimate tète à tète
This lamp looks like a candle, but it casts a downwards light, perfect for a romantic dinner where you can also see what you’re eating. Tetatet is the tiny lamp by Davide Groppi, it’s portable and its rechargeable battery has a 10 hour life. Now, we can switch all the lights off…
