Prefinished and natural
Timber flooring is made from prefinished boards, which have been sanded down, oiled or varnished. Two or three different layers of floorboards are overlaid on each other. Here, several layers of Fiemme 3000 have been glued together using non-toxic vinyl adhesives. Solid timber boards have to be at least 2,5 mm thick.
Laying the floor down: glued or floating?
Glued floorboards are permanent, secure and have a deeper sound. Floating floorboards, namely dry-pressed floorboards do not require adhesives. However, you’ll need to overlay at least three layers of solid timber floorboards to form a solid structure. The Pangea series by Salis in inspired by old-time floor style.
